ABOUT US

We are a diverse group of citizens who share a common purpose to protect, sustain, and celebrate Morro Bay — the one-of-a-kind City that we love.

We value the health and safety of Morro Bay’s citizens of all ages.

We value the incredible biodiversity of wildlife that share the natural environment with us.

We value the abundant coastal access to the ocean and bay as well as the rolling hills surrounding us -all of which increases our quality of life, welcomes visitors from all over the world, and is the home for our wildlife neighbors.

We value the commitment of Morro Bay’s plentiful volunteer organizations whose service and efforts go above and beyond to beautify our City, increase civic pride, and provide positive activities and events for our citizens and visitors to enjoy.

We value the work of Morro Bay’s professional City staff and their expertise that provides the City Council with detailed and balanced information for good decision making while providing direct service to citizens and visitors.

We value the efforts of Morro Bay’s businesses and employees, in all sectors of the City, to ensure Morro Bay’s economy thrives and can provide revenue for critical public services we all rely on and appreciate.

We believe strongly that if A-24 passes, it will result in a significant loss of local control – and citizens’ voices being heard and valued – on any future development at the old Morro Bay power plant site – the largest revenue-generating opportunity in over 60 years. The passage of A-24 will negatively impact the City in both the short and long term and may, ultimately, risk the sustainability and livability of the place we love to call home.

BECAUSE WE LOVE MORRO BAY, WE ARE FIGHTING TO PROTECT IT & ASKING VOTERS TO VOTE “NO” ON A-24…

…TO PROTECT Morro Bay City Council’s ability to make decisions that retain local control of our City – We cannot give away our decision-making ability and local control to the County or the State.

…TO PROTECT Morro Bay citizens' rights to participate, robustly, in the public democratic process, in partnership with the City Council, to make ALL decisions for the best interests in our community.  No one cares more about the issues in Morro Bay than Morro Bay citizens!

…TO PROTECT Morro Bay’s pristine natural environment from any and all risks by ensuring any development at the old Morro Bay power plant, and elsewhere in the City, is safe for citizens, visitors, first-responders, and wildlife.

…TO PROTECT Morro Bay’s future financial sustainability to ensure our City will have the revenue necessary to remain an independent city with excellent public services – especially our own police and fire departments – for residents and visitors today and in the future.
